BTS: Expect Lace Pop-Up

Kyla Brown, owner of Underthing lingerie

Hey, Kyla here! As some of you may know, this past weekend I was in Philadelphia doing a pop-up at Expect Lace. This collaboration was so special to me because I got to see Underthing in a store for the first time.

After spending hours steaming and tagging each piece, I was overwhelmed with gratitude. I just felt so blessed that I was given the opportunity to get to this point. I felt accomplished thinking about all the hard work that has gone into this business.

I have deep passion for helping women recognize their power and embracing pleasure. I'm so over women being used as a vehicle for someone else's pleasure! My goal is to help women use lingerie as a form of self love and empowerment.

Starting Underthing has been life changing - it began as a little project for me and grew into a business. And it's just the beginning. Next week will make 1 year! I'm so thankful that I get to build this platform to empower women, especially women of color.

Speaking of women of color, the shop is owned by an extraordinary Black woman named Shaw Lewis. She inspired me deeply as I watched her make magic in her beautiful store. Underthing will be there for the rest of November, so be sure to visit if you haven't already!
